Jackson’s Bay is a quieter, sheltered beach tucked away on the eastern side of Barry Island, offering a lovely alternative to the busier main resort beach. Dogs are welcome throughout the year, and you can extend your visit with a scenic walk around Nell’s Point and the Wales Coast Path.

Vale of Glamorgan Council specifically lists Jackson’s Bay as one of the beaches dogs can continue to use during the 1 May to 30 September summer restriction period that applies to several other local beaches.
Parking and accessibility
Street/local parking around Barry Island; pedestrian access down to the bay. Public toilets at Redbrink Crescent operate roughly 9am–6pm May–Oct.
Dog and safety warnings
Check tide before visiting because the usable beach shrinks considerably. Do not accidentally continue onto Whitmore Bay with the dog in summer: dogs are banned there 1 May–30 Sept.
