1. About Sniffed Out
Sniffed Out is a UK-based community discovery service for dog-friendly places and events. Contact us at oxo@sniffedout.co.uk. The service is currently provided free of charge.
2. Using the service
You must be at least 16 to create an account. You must provide accurate account information, keep login details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from our failure to use reasonable care.
You may browse without an account, but contributions, saved places and some community features require sign-in.
3. Listings are a guide
Dog policies, opening times, facilities, prices, event information and accessibility can change. Listings and community contributions are provided for general information and are not a guarantee. Check important requirements directly with the venue or organiser before travelling or booking.
Nothing on Sniffed Out is veterinary, medical, legal or safety advice. You remain responsible for your dog, your decisions and compliance with venue rules and applicable law.
4. Your contributions
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Sniffed Out a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, resize, display and distribute it only as reasonably needed to operate, promote and improve the service. This licence ends when content is deleted, except for reasonable backups, legal records and material already shared outside our control.
You confirm that your contribution is accurate to the best of your knowledge, based on a genuine experience where stated, and that you own it or have permission to submit it. Do not submit private information, unlawful material or photographs of identifiable people without appropriate permission.
5. Community standards
Genuine negative reviews and factual criticism are allowed. Abuse, discrimination, threats, harassment, impersonation, spam, undisclosed conflicts of interest, duplicates, manipulation and unlawful content are not. Reviews must follow the Review Guidelines.
We may check, delay, reject, restrict or remove content where reasonably necessary to apply these terms, protect users, comply with law or preserve the integrity of the service. Claimed venues may reply and use Review Resolution, but do not control independent community reviews.
6. Events, venues and third parties
Approval means a submission has passed our publication checks; it is not an endorsement, safety inspection or guarantee. Organisers and venues remain responsible for their events, services, bookings and legal duties. Third-party websites have their own terms and privacy practices.
7. Our content and brand
© 2026 Sniffed Out. All rights reserved. Copyright is asserted in the original website copy, page layouts, illustrations, dog artwork, photographs, software and other original material created for Sniffed Out.
The Sniffed Out wordmark, dogs emblem, full logo, tagline logo and every approved colour or layout variation are protected brand artwork. They must not be copied, altered, republished, used as an avatar or used to suggest affiliation without prior written permission.
User contributions remain owned by their creators and third-party names, marks and material remain the property of their respective owners. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial discovery. You must not scrape, reproduce, resell, interfere with, reverse engineer or misuse the service except where law expressly permits it. See the Copyright Notice for permission enquiries.
8. Availability and accounts
We aim to keep Sniffed Out useful and available, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may change, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical. We may restrict or close an account for serious or repeated breaches, fraud, safety risks or legal reasons, normally giving an explanation and a reasonable opportunity to appeal where appropriate.
9. Responsibility
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, were caused by information supplied by third parties, or arise from business use of this free consumer service.
10. Ending use, changes and law
You may stop using Sniffed Out at any time and may ask for account deletion by emailing pickle@sniffedout.co.uk. We may update these terms when the service or law changes. Material changes will be explained and, where appropriate, notified before taking effect.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you also retain the benefit of mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law.
